Adobe 6.0 updates every launch

My boss's Acrobat 6.0 pro keeps updating everytime it launches, asking for a reboot.

All auto update is set to manual, no display message.

It is only an annoyance, as everything else is fine.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Registry glitch?

Here is one suggestion from Doug Hanna's post
"Login as an Admin on the machine. In A/R goto Preferences then Updats - in there you can shut them off. However, the changes will only be valid for that login! As a PowerUser/User level account you cannot access these controls."
