Adobe reader not loading when running the install

Can anyone help me to figure out why Adobe Reader will not load (at all) when running the .exe file? I have run it from Firefox and IE, but still nothing. I have saved it to my desktop and tried to run it, but nothing. Each time I double click and "Run" it disappears immediately and the .exe file goes to the Recycle Bin. I appreciate any help, b/c no Reader and no Flash Player makes it really tough. Thanks.

Try clearing out \user\AppData\Local\Temp\

Another thing to try is to download and run the MSI installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi

Make sure you quit all browsers when running the installer,

Thank you for the info Kelly. I was able to successfully load Adobe Reader and Flash Player. The link to the downloads worked. The only additional thing needed was to right click on the .exe files, select properties, and click "Unblock" to allow it to load properly. Thank you again!
