I'm trying to find a way to do two things via the Wizard. 1st, Under Prefernces, I need to set the Internet Connection Speed to LAN and 2nd, Under the Adobe PDF Settings, File Options, Compatability the default is 6, I need to change it 5.

Thanks in advance for your help!

PBParady,

Neither of these can be set through Da' Customizer and need to be applied as installation registry settings in your final package. See some of my previous posts on how to do this.

But, not to leave you hanging, Connect Speed is stored in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\AVGeneral
Name: iConnectionSpeed
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 10000000 <<-- LANNote: Acrobat 7, 8 & 9 store this value in the same general place. Just change the version number in the registry path.Flipping through the various values in the GUI then closing Acrobat will give you the value necessary - just in case someone needs a different value. Note - Acrobat only saves its registry information on AppClose.

What LAN Speed is used for - beyond me - I've had it set to any number of different settings and have found no difference whatsoever. If you think it helps - go for it.

Regarding your second setting question, could you please elaborate a bit more on where you are seeing that? App, then menu/GUI steps to get there.

Compatibility options are stored in a gazillion places. I want to make sure that I am focusing you in on the right one.

Thanks.

Thank you very much for your reply, I will review your posts to help me change registry setting for Internet Speed. I don't have any idea what it does either, but the platform manager insists that it be set @ LAN ( although he will also admit he has no idea what it does )

Regarding the Compatability setting, We use Word 2003 adn Wordperfect 12 each of which seems to have an independtly set compatability value. When I set it through the applications, it pulls up an Adobe GUI that is labeled Standard - Adobe PDF Settings, on the General Directory there is a section labeled File Options, which defaults to 6, I need it to default to 5, it seems that the settings are saved in a file called standard.joboptions.

Thank you again for your help
