Using Excel 2003 to document work and also embedding PDF's to support the work. Adobe has become highly unstable lately and crashes often. When trying to open the PDF from within Excel, Acrobat 7 Standard locks up at 99% CPU. If I kill the process, Acrobat opens but the Excel document sometimes gets corrupted in the process.
Are you referring to embedding PDF via hyperlinks in Excel? If so, I would recommend updating Acrobat 7. Earlier versions of 7 searched only web servers for PDF files that are linked to Office documents via hyperlinks. Later versions search web servers, local drives, and shared drives for linked PDF files.
Hope this helps,
Lori
