I run acrobat pro 8.0 on vista. today i updated and during installation, said some files could not update, did i want to continue anyway and finish other installs. i said yes. now i get pop ups ALL the time saying: "Acrobat Distiller has stopped working,"and something about closing the program. This is occurring when I am just viewing webpages, not even opening or using Acrobat? Do I need to uninstall the program, and reload it with the disc, and NOT update as Adobe recommends?
Any fix for me?

This sounds as though the Adobe Updater could not overwrite some files. Here is a URL to a technical note to address the issue:
