Install failure of AAPro 8.0

On Oct 15 2007 I purchased Adobe Acrobat 8.0 professional. Using the CD I then installed the program on my PC which runs IE 6.0 and WIN XP Home SP-2. I following on screen instructions carefully and apparently succeeded and registered my software successfully. But after shutting down and rebooting as the screen instructions suggested I found a computer that was frozen. I could not execute any command-could not access any programs, could not get onto internet. I became desperate. I then shut down booted back up in safe mode and chose to run a system restore. Took considerable time but it did work when I specified a restore date earlier than my 8.0 install. But this procedure wiped out 8.0. I repeated this entire sequence two more times with same result.
I sutrongly suspect I have a malicious script or other nefarious hack that is affecting my pc. I am not competent enough to dare attempting to modify the registry. Is there anyt solution for me????

I'm sorry to hear you're having such difficulties with your installation. When something like this goes wrong, a methodical approach to debugging the issue usually provides the best results since the culprit can be so many different factors (i.e., incorrect data in your Windows registry, bad CD , hardward problems, etc.). We have a technical document that provides a methodical approach to troubleshooting at:
