Acrobat Pro 10 autocomplete suggests (and enforces) jibberish

Since upgrading to Pro 10.1 (from 10.0) the autocomplete feature suggests jibberish completions and then enforces them - won't allow me to overwrite them even after many tries. I have tried deleting the autocomplete entry list (problem returns immediately), and switching from 'basic' to 'advanced' (problem remains the same).

This is a feature I use dozens of times a day as I fill out forms which I built in Acrobat 8 Pro in 2007. Autocomplete had worked trouble-free for several years until now.

Platform: Win 7 64 with SP1.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Have you checked your document language under Properties?

Thank you Kelly,

Yes, this does seem to help. The Autocomplete no longer enforces jibberish, though it still does not work like it once did.

I have no idea why the language property of the document would have this effect. Is there some interaction with the spell-check?

Best,
Steve

Kelly-

Actually my previous post was wrong. Changing the language property of the form did not improve the situation.

It seems like the problem is an inability to overwrite a flawed suggestion from the list. The jibberish is always a small piece (3 or 4 letters) of an existing list entry. In the past I would have overwritten the flawed suggestion, but now I can't. Even if I delete the whole field and re-type, the same jibberish jumps in at the exact same spot as I re-type it.

Best,
Steve

This does look like a bug to me.

As a workaround, would it might be worthwile to look out for a shortcut expander utility (you type in a few characters, then hit a specific key, and it expands), and deactivate Acrobat's (obviously flawed) autocomplete feature.

Hope this can help.

Max-

Thanks for your suggestion. I found a few text expanders but then I'm using a 3rd party program which might have its own learning curve.

I'm more inclined to delete Acrobat and re-install ver. 10 plain. Autocomplete was working well until I upgraded to 10.1.

Anyhow, thanks again.

If this looks like a true bug, can you submit it here:
