Hi Mike --

I hope I am understanding your question. If you want to use the forms tools, choose the Text Field Tool from the Tools menus and draw a rectangle on the page. Name the field and configure its appearance and function in the Text Field Properties dialog box that opens when you finish drawing the field's shape.

Hi Mike --

At the risk of asking a dumb question, are you sure you are using Acrobat Pro? The tools are in pro, not in Standard, or in Adobe Reader.
