Are dynamic field values possible?

Hi there~

I'm evaluating Acrobat and it seems to do some pretty cool stuff; I may be asking a bit much, but...

Is it possible to assign a default field value based on an entry in a field that has previously been filled in (during the same session, just in a previous page) ?

Appreciate any insight from you Acrobatically experienced folks~

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but it is possible to set the value of a field based on the value of another field and it is also possible to name more than one field with the same name which merges the data into all of the fields simultaneously.

You can specify field values using forms data formats, such as FDF, XFDF for Adobe Acrobat, and XDP for Adobe LiveCycle.

Thanks, AcroBishop - I should have been more clear but I think you told me what I needed.
One usage is for filling forms that have the same information in more than one place. For that, it sounds like using the common field name is the ticket, although that brings up some other data issues.

I'll want to populate various fields with values from an external data source and also pull out data from a form and insert it into a db record (SQL Server). It sounds like this kind of thing can be done with Acrobat - certainly worth exploring....

Thanks for your reply~
