Our business partner maintains a website with business documents in FDF format. My coworkers are supposed to be able to access and print the docs from their website.
Most of us have always been able to open those FDF docs with no problem, and most of are still able to. However, one user cannot open the FDF docs.
Her error message is probably familiar to you Adobe experts:
" .... could not open 'pa019321.fdf' becasue it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted .... "
Her Windows PC having trouble is Windows XP sp 2. We recently applied some Windows Updates.
Until recently she was using IE 6.0 but we recently updated her to IE 7.0.
Until recently she was using Reader 6.0, but in an attempt to solve the problem I just upgraded to 9.0 this morning, didn't help
Previously, she was able to open and print these docs before the Windows updates
However, the other people here have Windows XP sp 2 with IE 7.0 and they are not having the problem. She supposedly has the same software, but can't
In Windows My Computer, I choose Tools> Folder Options> File Types.
File type FDF is identifed as an Adobe Acrobat Forms Document, and Opens with Adobe reader 9.0. Do I need to change the "Opens with" to some Adobe forms plug-in? How?
What plug-ins or settings might I be missing? Where and what should I check and troubleshoot?
