Check box fields

I've created a form in In Design and duplicated it in Word (pretty much). It has multiple check boxes. How to I get Acrobat 8 to recognize these check boxes as fields? Is there a way to create shadowed text boxes that Acrobat will recognize? I have used winging boxes to no avail.

Thanks

You can't, you have to manually add the check box fields to the PDF. Both InDesign and Word documents are coverted into PDF as relatively flat files, i.e., no interactive content. Although InDesign can create PDF buttons and Word maintians links, there is no general way to create form fields when converting from these formats, and Acrobat's form field recognition tool does not recognize check boxes.
