Data in text fields not appearing unless activated

I just received a form that was filled out and sent back to one of our offices and the data in text fields does not appear untill the field receives focus. When the field looses focus the text disappears. Every text field is doing this.

I can make the data in each field appear all of the time if I add something to each field. Even a space will do the trick.

I notice that the original form when it is sent out is Acrobat 7 compatible but this form that was returned is an Acrobat 5 compatible form.

Has anyone else seen similar occurances?

I can't image what would cause this.
