Decrease number by 1 between two fields

Hi,

I'm trying to get two fields to calculate so that when "field 2" is entered, the same number is automatically entered into "field 1" but with a decrement of 1.

For example I need "000025-02" to appear into the 1st field as "000025-01"

I'm only trying to get this to work with the 2 fields and the number wouldn't go below 1 (not affecting the 6 digit prefix)

If someone could show me what needs to be entered to get this to work it would be greatly apprecated!! I haven't been able to find what I'm after going through other posts for quite some time.

Thank you

This can only be achieved with a script.

Are you using AcroForms or LiveCycle Designer?

Since you are using a character string, you will need to write a custom script and not just a simple math equation.
