Hi,

I am a beginner to Acrobat, I just received Acrobat 8 Pro yesterday and have never owned any other versions so I apologize, in advance, if I do not quite make sense with my questions.

I am using a pre-printed form that Acrobat did not do very well with when I ran "Form Field Recognition".

Question - Does this mean I will have to manually create the fields with the Forms tool?

Also, is the Typewriter tool the only means of entering data onto the pre-printed form?

Finally, is there anything special I have to do to print ONLY the text that was typed into Acrobat using the pre-printed form as the guide?

Thank you so much for your time and help. I truly appreciate it!

Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

Create or save the form as a Word document. Open LiveCycle Designer, click New From, select Import a Word Document. Designer will automatically recognize the form fields and populate them on the page.

Regarding printing text: Add a Print button and set its properties to be visible but does not print.

Thank you for your response.

I have a scanned pre-printed form and I am not sure how to save that as a Word doc. Can you help?

Also, I am not sure how to "Add a Print button" but have not researched that yet. If you can provide help on that to save me time, that would be most appreciated as well.

Thanks again!

Save the scan as a MS Word doc. Note: Scanner must have good quality OCR capabilities.

Tag your MS Word doc and if it's capable, insert form field elements. If not, convert the Word doc to PDF and insert your form fields.

Check Help for info on creating a Print button.
