We created forms in Adobe 9. The data collected in them will be emailed back to a central data coordinating site. We want the data emailed to be encrypted due to regulatory requirements. Is there a way to do this?
With Acrobat you can either have the user set an "Open" password or use a digital certificate to encrypt it.
For the first option, the recipient would need to know what password was used, so this can be difficult to manage.
The second option is more likely to pass regulatory muster, but you will need to distribute a digital certificate to the users. They will need training in how to install and use it. The recipient will also need to remember his password in order to open the PDF.
