How do I figure out what is triggering the "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." message?
Acrobat is saying that it cannot gather enough information to build a proper page object. It could be a structural error, but most likely it's a page content rendering error. Something like a missing image or other resource could trigger it.
So what is being displayed? Is anything obvious missing from the display? Does Acrobat crash? Where did the document come from? How was it created? Did it ever work? What has been done to it? All these questions could help in figuring it out.
But you may need to be a PDF expert and have a tool like PDF CanOpener or PitStop to diagnose and fix it.
The easy fix is to go back to a previously working version, or regenerate the document.
