I am using the typewriter tool in Adobe Acrobat and every time I start using it Adobe disables my form fields such as text boxes and check fields. Why does it do this and is there a way to stop this? Thanks!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Windows

The 'typewriter' tool is an annotation tool just like any comment.

If you select the hand tool, you should be able to select a form field and fill in the information as long as you are not in the form edit mode.

Actually I know it's there because I can't type anything over it with the typewriter tool. I did use the hand tool but it still doesn't work. You know usually it will highlight the fields but it doesn't.

Are there really form fields or just white space for the assumed form fields?

Are you viewing this PDF in the PDF/A mode?

If so, turn it off. This is an archival mode and disables most of the interactive features of the PDF.

I am not sure which view I am in. How can I find out and turn it off? Thanks!

I found out how to turn it off but I still can't see the checkbox.
