hi all, I'm new with the acrobat world. Im experiencing acrobat pro 8.0 with the creation of form. This is the step I followed:

1. Scan the physical form to jpg file
2. Open this image file with illustrator to create my form with 2 layer, 1 with the background (the image above) and the other contains form fields. (the form field is created with rectangular tool, I delete the top, left and right edges)
3. Save this doc as pdf file with layers
4. Open it with acrobat pro 8, but the Form/Run Form Field Recognition is disable (not clickable).

Could any one plz tell me why I cant get RFFR work?
Thank you in advance

Why not just use Acrobat's "Form Tool" to add the form fields to the PDF image?

I could do that, but what I wanted here is to take advantage of the available feature of acrobat pro 8.0 (since we pay the product for those features). Could some one help me to solve my prob? thnx

Hi Andy,

Did you download the form I posted on my blog site at the end of the article? If you have a separate layer similar to the example, you should be able to get RFFR to work. Check out your stroke attributes and be certain you have a stroke color and weight. A 1-point stroke should do it. I haven't found any problems using this method, but that's not to say that it works all the time.

If you haven't figured it out, send me the file offline at ted [at] west [dot] net with a note to remind me of the problem. Maybe we can get to the bottom of it.ted
