I am building an Adobe Pro 8 form that requires a calculation that needs to calculate the square root of a variable. How does one calculate a square root in the simplified field notation? Or does it require a JavaScript?

Head on over to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_root to get tools on how to do this.
the Sqrt(x) = 10^.5log(x) looks like your best bet.
Then, hop on over here -> http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Core_JavaScript_1.5_Reference:Global_Objects:Math:log will give you how to execute the LOG operator.Hope this helps.....
And I'll bet you said in High School trig class... Why do I need to know this? I'll never use it! :) Enjoy.
