How to make "unchanged" forms invisble on print?

Hello
I am having a problem printing forms in our PDF templates.

Procedure:
I made the PDF's from Excel 2007 and I am using Acrobat Extended 9.2.

All forms are set to "Visible". Every form have a dropdown menu with 3 different choices, but if not chosen it will show a question mark.

Everything works fine, except for the question marks in the forms that are not changed. The question marks are printed and I do not want this. Instead of a question mark I want it to be empty when printed.

Is it possible to make the question mark "invisible" on print automatical?
Or do I have to change all of them manually to "Visible but doesn't print" ?

Hope somebody are able to help me out with this.

Well, if you print the form with a button, you can set up a script that will hide those fields before printing. But if the user uses the built-in Print function of Acrobat/Reader, it won't work.

Thanks for a quick answer.

I have no idea how to make such a script. Some pointers in the right direction would be great to have:)

Can such script be used for our Adobe Reader users as well?
