Hello,

First sorry for my english, and i have Acrobat pro in french, so i don't know the exactly terms for it.

I am creating a PDF with "Acrobat Pro". This is a file in which the reader must complete certain fields (which form).

Finally, this reader must sign this document with a digital signature. I have therefor create a signature field.

My problem is that it's impossible for a reader with "adobe reader" to sign this file ...

I put no protections on the file and the reader can't sign. In the protocols of protection it is noted (among others) Affixing signatures: not allowed

My question is, how a reader who has only Acrobat Reader (free version so) can sign this document? Is there an option to check in my document? Or an option to unlock the "adobe reader" of my reader?

Thank you for all your info

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.2, Windows

Hi,

Unfortunately users with Reader cannot digitally sign a PDF unless the form has been "Reader Enabled" first.

I have a summary of the four options available to you when deploying a form. While the summary is based on forms that are developed in LiveCycle Designer, the bulk of the features also apply to forms developed in Acrobat Pro. The summary is available here: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/using-livecycle-forms-in-acrobat-and-reader/ (there is a link at the end of the post).

In order to allow a user with Reader to digitally sign a PDF form, you need to reader enable the form. You can do this with Acrobat Pro under the Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader menu. However there are licensing restrictions, to no more than 500 data processes for that form. See EULA.There is a server product called LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2, which can further extend a form, however this is intended for large organisations processing large volumes of forms.

I hope that helps,

Niall

Hope this helps,
