Invalid Annotation Object

I've recently encountered the error "Invalid Annotation Object" when i tried opening a User Right Enabled PDF with Acrobat Reader. The message kept popping up even though i pressed ok.

What can i do to get rid of that?
What actually causes the error? and how to deal with it?

any suggestions?

Hi Victoria

I found my way to your post while searching for an answer myself. There is another thread discussing this problem that goes back to 2007 with no help or input from Adobe.

One suggestion there helped get our file back.

I assume you're working on a Windows computer. Save the file to a key and open the file on a Mac. Save the file with a NEW NAME.
Bring it back to the Windows computer and voila, problem is gone but all your comments etc will still be there.

The help from Adobe is non existent. Disgusting.
