Lining Up Checkboxes with Original box on Form

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way of lining up created checkboxes/radio buttons with the original drawn box from the original PDF easily. This is because my original PDF forms have boxes already drawn on them and I need to create checkboxes to fit inside those previously drawn boxes. The problem is, I have a lot of checkboxes to create and I'm finding it very hard to line them all up with the original boxes. Is there any way of making the created checkboxes 'cling' onto the drawn boxes?

Thanks.

Hi jayyy91,

Have you tried to run Form Field Recognition on your PDF? I would give that a try on a copy of your PDF as a test. It should pick up the squares as checkboxes and place check box fields over them without having to move them around at all.
Run Form Field Recognition is under the Forms menu.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for your help!

And, for the record, 'Form Field Recognition' is actually under the Advanced menu. To access it go to Advanced > Accessibility > Run Form Field RecognitionThanks again!

Thanks for the info- in my Acrobat 8 it is in both places (Advanced and Forms). I'll check out Acrobat 9 on another machine today (menu items in Acrobat are like musical chairs version to version).

Did doing that add your check boxes for you? If so that's a nice feature isn't it?

Hope this helps,
