When creating a text field, after I drag the marquee across the desired area, there is an extremely long delay before I can fill in the field name in the yellow dialog box that appears at the bottom of the marquee. In other words, after drawing the marquee, a yellow dialog box appears at the bottom requesting the name of the text field (if the default name is not to be accepted.) But the Windows hour glass symbol appears and hangs for over a full minute before I'm free to accept or change the default field name; in any case, I have to wait over a minute for whatever internal process is underway to complete.
Is there any way to speed this up? Could there be a system setting I'm missing?

How many pages and large is the file before adding fields?
