Not printing form background - how?

I have a form that I created by scanning an existing document. I also wrote a server-side program that fills this form in with data from a database. Because I based this form on a scanned document, the scanned image is now the background for this form. I'd like to be able to prevent this background image from printing, i.e., to cause only the form fields to print. I know this is possible if a user selects the Form Fields Only option in Acrobat Reader. But I'd like to be able to automate this: Show the form with the background, but then have only the form-fields print without the background.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,

I have the same question:

I'm on a Mac and creating forms by hand using Acrobat 8.0 Professional.

I'm creating a product where consumers will buy a packet of pre-printed forms -- they can either fill out these forms by hand or use the accompanying CD-ROM to enter their information onto the PDF forms via computer. They will then print out their information on the pre-printed forms.

Hence my question:How do I create PDF forms where the information entered by the user into the fields prints out, but the form itself does not print out.

Any suggestions?? Thanks.

One can select to print the form field only from the "Print" UI or with JavaScript one can make a print button that prints only the form field data.
