Required Drop Down Field

I am looking for how to require a user to select an option out of a list in a required drop down field. Currently, individuals are able to successfully submit forms without selecting an option. It is defaulting to the top option. Is there a way to require a selection? I am new to Acrobat.

You need to create a test to make sure a valid selection has been made for the drop down or combo box before you allow a submit action.
