user has problem editing form fields

I have created a form which will allow the client to input data and follow the progress of a job. They fill in the areas, and as the job progresses it goes to several people working on the job and they need to be able to go back and edit the text in the interactive fields. When they do this, the text overprints what was previously typed. Normal cut, paste, delete commands do not work as expected. Is there a way to edit form fields? Users are using Acrobat 7. How does the client go back and edit what they have typed in the interactive form fields? I can't seem to find any similar questions online about other users having this problem, which leads me to believe I am missing something, please help! I'd be happy to send a copy of the form for your inspection.

It sounds like someone printed the form, making the text a permanent part of the document.

No, not at all, it happens to me as well as I test the form. We open the form in Acrobat 7 and proceed to fill in the fields which allows muliple lines, and as the visible field is filled the text overwrites what was previously typed in. Also if we move to another field and then go back to a previous field to add or correct what we typed the new text overwrites what is there. Can I send a copy of the pdf or ftp it somewhere so you can see what I mean?
