blank PDFs returned from submit button

Using Adobe Designer, I created a form with a button. The control type was set to submit to url mailto:myemail [at] domain [dot] org. the form can be accessed online and filled out, but when the user clicks submit and an email is created it doesn't send the information that was entered into the form. I have tried other submit formats than PDF, but none of these will work in our system as Outlook blocks the attachments.

Any ideas?

I realized that this issue is only with the forms originally created in Word then converted to a PDF. If I start from Adobe Designer, the button will send a pdf with the information that was typed in. If I use the forms that started out as Word documents, all that is emailed is the blank document with none of the information. Using the XML data is not an option, because my users are NOT going to want to take extra steps.

If you want to have your end-users who are filling out your form with the free Reader, return the entire PDF form, then you'll need to Reader-enable your form. This will allow them to send you the completed form, including the data.
You can find this command in Acrobat 8 Pro. under the Advanced menu.

I have had the same problem with distributed forms created in LiveCycle 8. I have made certain Reader Usage Rights have been enabled, even though I believe the distribution process does this automatically.

Regardless, when the user fills out the form and sends it back using the submit button that Adobe automatically provides during the distribution, I keep getting blank forms.

.... what I have just discovered that is even more strange is that when I receive a completed form and double click on it, it opens in Acrobat and all the fields are empty. If I right-click and "save as" to my desktop and then proceed to open it in Reader, the fields are populated!
