I just finished an interactive form in LiveCycle Designer 7. The problem is that our users primarily have Acrobat 6 or Reader 7 -- and every time the form is opened they get a popup "This file appears to use a new format that this version of Acrobat does not support. It may not open or display correctly. Acobe recommends that you upgrade to the latest version of our Acrobat products. Please visist our product site at http://www.adobe.com/acrobat" This form is also going to be available to the public and no telling what version of Adobe they will have. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

You can set the target version of Acrobat/Reader for your form within the file preferences.

To use XML-forms the users will need at least Reader 6.0.2, because this is the lowest possible target version.
Older versions of Acrobat/Reader can't handle the PDF.

The next versions that supporting more and more functions of XML-forms are 7.0.5, 8.0, 8.1, 9.0 and 9.1 (availability depends on Designer version).
You can check, if all your integrated form actions (JavaScripts, Buttons etc.) are supportet with the selected target version in the Report bar at the buttom (can be activated under Window > Report).
