Converting Word to LiveCycle causes crash

I am converting Word 2003 files to LiveCycle Designer and consistently run into errors - specifically with the conversion program crashing.

I create new form in LiveCycle, import from Word. The importing process begins and continues until near the end of the doc and then it crashes. There seems to be no difference whether the doc is 1 page or 20.

How do I troubleshoot this crashing? Is there a Word file format I need to save as first or are there certain objects in word I need to clean up before converting? Or, is the problem all Adobe? Is there a patch?

I am looking for reasons for the crashing of the program so I can troubleshoot how to keep it from crashing.

Thank you!

Hi patstream,

You don't mention what operating systems you're using but only the lastest update of Acrobat/Livecycle 8.1 supports any of the Windows 64-bit operating systems.

Microsoft Word 2003 must be installed on the same computer as LiveCycle Designer.

If you are importing a Word XP file that is configured to be sent as an email message, ensure you have installed Word XP Service Pack 1. Otherwise, Word XP will crash after the import process has completed.

To obtain the best results, the input file should contain no more than ten pages.

Hope this helps,
Lori
