I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to embed some sort of text editor within a PDF Form so that I can enable users to enter text in a text field and also style this text (i.e. make bold, change color, make larger, etc.) before submitting the form. Does anyone know if this is possible perhaps by using a JavaScript library or embedded Flash application? Thanks.

Hi,

you can use a text field and set it format to "Rich Text".
Then you can easily format the text from the context menü (right click).
This allows bold, italic and/or underlined text.

For other fancy options, you'll need to press ctrl + E to open the advanced text editior!

Thank you for the information about "Rich Text." This does allow the user to use the contextual menu and set the following Text Styles: bold, italic, underline, superscript and subscript... not exactly a large variety of styles. Using Ctrl+E provides a pretty rich editor though!

I also discovered that with "Rich Text" users can paste copied text from another text editor like MS Word and the field will retain any text formatting from the original text editor. This could be useful.
