Fill in xdp file into form doesn't work in IE9

Hello,

we've been using Adobe Livecycle Designer 8.0 for ages to create forms and then send xdp-files with data to our customers. They open these xdp-files in their browser which loads the pdf and fills in the data into the pdf. It has always worked very well.

Recently we noticed strange behaviour in IE9: Whenever there is an image (encoded as Base64-string) in the xdp-file IE9 won't display the form. The exact same file works perfectly well in Firefox and Safari.

Does anyone have an idea what's going on here? You can try it out using this test file:

David

Hi radzmar,

thanks for your answer!

You are right, if you already navigated to that url and then open it up a second time, everything works great (in IE9). But if you clear your cache and then open the url for the first time, it doesn't work. It seems as if Adobe Reader starts (gray background), but then it gets stuck and nothing happens any more. It definitely doesn't load the pdf. Pressing Enter a second time in the address bar will open the pdf.

I noticed that behavior only in IE9. Every other browser displays the pdf the first time you open that url.
By the way, I am using Reader X.

Best regards,
David

I just uninstalled Reader X and installed Reader 9. With Reader 9 the problem doesn't occur.

A collegue has IE8 + Reader X on his PC. There the problem occurs as described obove (pressing Enter a second time loads the PDF).

The problem seems to be related to Reader X + IE (any version). Reader 9 works great.

I got a message saying I needed to add to Trust, so I did, and the page loaded w/data.

If you installed IE9 after you installed Adobe Plug-ins, you may need to reinstall Adobe Reader..
