Floating Field on Master Page not duplicating

I have a dynamic form developed in LiveCycle 8.2 ES that flows over multiple pages and the number of pages will vary based on imported data.

It has 1 master page with a floating field. This floating field pulls data from xml when imported in Acrobat Professional 8.

My problem is I can get the field to appear on the first page but when the content flows to a new page it does not show the floating field. Example: Document is 3 pages long after data is imported. The floating field appears on the first page but does not on the subsequent pages.

I have tried going into the pagination under the main subform and selecting the content area of the master page under the "If Dataset Must Be Paginated" option. This does not work.

I tried creating a footer on the main page that appears on every page but because the content flows, the footer does not appear in the same place everytime.

In design view I see the floating field on every page but I don't understand why I don't see it in Preview or in Acrobat Professional 8.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

The master page is not for contents such as flowing text fields, it's for the basic layout of the form.
Any flowing content should be placed onto a body page.

Okay,

Well, I don't have flowing content on the master page I have a floating textfield that is supposed to populate with data pulled from an xml file.

I don't want this in the floating content area because it changes every time data is pulled.

I need to figure out the way to have the floating textfield on the master page to show on every page the data produces.

If I didn't explain this correctly the first time I apologize.

Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Ah, ok.

You should set the binding of your field to "global", so every instance of this field has the same value.
