OK, I am a total newbie at this whole interactive form thing. One of my clients wanted an order form that they could email to their respective customers, have them fill it out and email it back. So, I created an interactive form in LiveCycle and when I emailed it to my client, they couldn't use it. I found out that I had to enable the Reader usage rights for them to be able to fill in the form, so I did so. The thing now is, when they send the form on to thier customers for some reason the end users couldn't fill it out or it was corrupted some how. I've tried several things, saving a new copy each time with rights enabled. Now, my client can't even use it and when they send it on to thier customers it is a jumble of wierd boxes and script. I found out that we had people using versions of Reader ranging from 3.0 to 7, so I had everyone involved upgrade to 9.1. Same results! Help! I seem to be going backward!

If you are emailing the forms, many email servers and clients have a problem with PDF's. You can send the PDF in a zip file or have the user sys admin adjust the email system to allow PDFs as attachments.

Sorry, I've been busy. This file works fine on my end, but then I have full Acrobat and my customer has Reader. The error message reads:
This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.
I don't know if it matters, but I am using Vista and it appears like my customers are using Windows 2000. Any ideas?

When you apply "Extended Reader Form Rights" [b]do not[/b] perform a "Save" or "Save as ..." or you will remove the extended rights code.

Can anyone help me with this problem? I still haven't been able to figure out what's wrong. Am I exporting wrongly out of LiveCycle?

Earlier versions do not support those forms and won't open.
To make the forms compatible with older Reader versions, you can set the compatibility in the document properties dialog.
But, this can cause some interactive function do not work. This depends on the kind of interactivity you programmed.
The issue with the corrupted files isn't easy to answer.
Did you check those files on your system too?
What error message do the customers see, when they open the form?
