LiveCycle Designer vs LiveCycle Designer ES

Hello,

Is LiveCycle Designer same as LiveCycle Designer ES??

I received an "extra" application when I recently bought Acrobat Professional. The title bar says it is LiveCycle Designer. Everywhere I look for information on Adobe site all I see is LiveCycle Designer ES. Even when I purchased I tried to find out more about this extra product and found the site very confusing.

So far, I have found Designer to be hard to work with and it has crashed several times, generally during copy/paste of page elements. It's so bad I thought perhaps the product I had was a beta or very early version and went to look for service packs or updates. My Acrobat Pro says it's the latest version and LiveCycle Designer doesn't seem to know what it is...

I'm begining to think ES is just the latest version? If so, can someone point me to a good document that shows the difference?

I just want to create some simple forms to be distrubuted via our web site for users to submit orders.

I'd like the users to be able to save copies of the forms wit the data they have entered, and like to know what version of Adobe Reader they will have to have to do that.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Bob; since you want to do a simple form; just do it in Acrobat. Designer is overkill for a simple form; and overkill for you.

After you make the form, you must "rights enable" in Acrobat (under the Advanced toolbar). And you will need a email submit button. And your viewers will need at least Acrobat 7.

And don't forget that the EULA agreement limits you to 500 copies of the form.

Check some of the links on the homepage because the topic of the month is forms

Hope this helps.

Acrobat is probably the program I use most often and I'm learning more every day.
