I have created a simple fillable consent form in LiveCycle 7 of 7 pages. It all works fine until I get to page 6 where the following errors occur.

The Japanese Language Support Package in required to display thispage properly. Click Ok to install etc. However not everyone can install this as they we are a lge organisation where admin access is not allowed. I have searched the xml and can find no reference to Japanese language and don't know why it is required. On some machines it doesn't print the last page except for the print button. I can send the form if it helps. There is no problem on my machine but on others with only adobe reader. As this will be on our website for customers we need to ensure it works. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi LyndyLou11,

Sounds like you have a double-byte character that was not embedded in your form. Did you create your form from scratch or import from a program like Word? You can use some of the tools in Acrobat Pro. to determine if the font is in the document (File --> Properties --> Font tab). You can also use the Content navigation pane to locate the content and delete it with the Touch Up Tool. For more information regarding this visit the following URL:

I am having the exact same problem with a form I just created in LiveCycle Designer 8 based on a PDF document I saved from Quark. I saved the form as Acrobat 7 Dynamic.

People using Acrobat 8 Pro have no issues with the form, but people using Acrobat 7 Pro get that Japanese error message.

In the Document Properties>Fonts list, there is a font that has "Encoding: Identity-H" while all the other fonts have "Encoding: Ansi." But it has the same name as another font that has Encoding: Ansi so I don't know how to isolate it to change it... or even if it is causing the issue. The link you posted doesn't work. And I couldn't figure out how to use the Content pane to fix the issue with the Touch Up tool as you suggested. It doesn't seem to list what fonts are used or where they are in the document. Could you clarify how to use it, or give some other suggestions based on the info above?

Thanks!

I'm having this same "Japanese Characters" error with forms I create in Acrobat 9 standard. Seems to be a bug.

I am having the same problem with a Acrobat Pro 9 fillable form that I created. Why does it need the Japanese Font? I tried to go to the link that Lori Kassuba posted above but the link is not there anymore. Any ideas what I can do to resolve this?
