I have employees who share a computer terminal and individually need to digitally sign Acrobat 8 forms designed in LiveCycle. This computer station has Adobe Reader 7 on it. Is the signature controlled by who logged into the computer, now a generic log-on or is there a way to allow each employee access to their signature to sign forms? I would like to avoid an employee having to log out then log back in to sign a form.
Acrobat uses Digital IDs for users to digitally sign documents. Digital IDs operate by using a key pair: the public key locks, or encrypts, data; the private key unlocks, or decrypts, that data. When you sign PDF documents, you use the private key to apply your digital signature.
Digital IDs are usually password protected and can be stored on your computer in password protected file, on a smart card or hardware token, in the Windows certificate store, or on a signing server (for roaming IDs). Acrobat applications include a default signature handler that can access digital IDs from any of these locations.
There is a Digital Signature User Guide that provides additional architecture information available at:

Hope this helps,
