Need Designer to create interactive forms - Upgrade or Full Package?

First off, I am a bit of a novice with regard to PDFs so please excuse what may seem like very basic questions. I am used to converting various other formats to PDF for web publishing purposes and I have created a couple of very basic dynamic forms in the past using Acrobat but that is really as far as my "skills" go.

I have now been given a task at work of designing a dynamic form with the proviso that the end user can add extra rows to a table when required. I started off using Word 2007 as the form will either reside on our company intranet or be emailed to staff for completion. I used a macro I found on a Word forum and while everything worked fine on my own PC I ran into the dreaded macro enable/disable security jungle when I got a couple of members of staff to test it out. In short it was causing more hassle than anything else. It has therefore been suggested I try to create the form using Acrobat.

I have Acrobat v9 Professional which I initially thought would be able to do the job on its own but after some Googling I find that to allow the end user the function to add rows via a button, I need Adobe Live Cycle Designer.

I have reported back to my boss that I need Designer to be able to do the job in hand and he has asked how much this will cost!

This now begs these questions -

- can I just buy Designer on its own as an 'add on' to Acrobat 9
- if I need to have Acrobat X do I need to buy the whole package just to get Designer
- does an Acrobat X upgrade package have Designer bundled with it

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.2, Windows

If you have Acrobat 9 Pro then you already have Designer included.
Check if there is a directory "c:\program files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Designer".
If so you will find the FormDesigner.exe in this directory, which is the Designer.
If not, you will have to reinstall Acrobat and select Designer to be installed too.

Radzmar - many thanks for the quick answer. I have had a look and have found FormDesigner.exe (v8.2). Thanks for that advice - I told you I didn't know much about Adobe!! No doubt this will make my boss's day as he won't have to fork out for new software!
