Numeric field/Time field

I want my users who are filling in the form to put in the hour and the minutes according to a 24 hr clock (eg: 13:15). When I use a date/time field, I can't seem to customize it according to the instructions (h:MM) to get an hour and minute output and when I make the field a numeric field I get a comma (1,234). How do I do this?
Using LiveCucle 7 Acrobat Prof 8 and I'm just learning how to use this product

How are you trying to customize the field? I just tried creating a date/time field. Then, on the Object palette's Field tab, I chose a display pattern of HH:MM:SS, then got an error about the binding. I went to the Binding tab and changed the Data Format to Time. Then I went into preview and typed 1:00 in the field and it kept the right format.

I am using LCD 8, so it may be slightly different in 7. Good luck!
