Prompt for Incorrect Field Entry

Hi,

I've created a form which collects basic information on individuals (name, DOB, address, phone number, health insurance number, etc.), but I'd like to format the telephone number fields and health insurance number field to only accept entries that are 10 digits long (ie. 999-999-9999). Is this possible? This is just to make sure that their health card number is entered correctly, as any mistakes can cause us a lot of trouble with billing.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro and Adobe LifeCycle ES 8.2.

Thanks!!

You can set the field format through the various format entry fields (Field Format, Display Pattern, Edit Pattern, and Validation Pattern). You can enter a script the evaluates to a false value for validation errors in the Validation script action, and you enter custom Validation Pattern Message and Validation Script Message.
