Hi all,

I have a request which i'm sure has been covered before but my searching hasnt been successful,

I am a pretty amateur user of Livecycle forms..so

I have setup a basic form with some entry fields, one of which is Employee Name (name of field is empname)

I have setup the standard button which uses outlook to send a pdf attachment

What i would like to do is somehow change the name of the pdf to the name given in the Employee Name field and for this to be attached when sent

The document they are sending is 19pages long also however i need them to have read it, is there a way to only send the page with the fields on it as the PDF?

thanks so much for reading

Hi,

the bitter pill is: both things are not possible.

The file name can only be changed when the file is saved locally first.
Only the whole form will attached to a mail.

Could you do this if you saved the file to the server then had a script which could send it via formmail or similar?

thanks

I don't think so, because Acrobat/Reader attaches only the currently opened form not a from an external source.

I have a similar situation that may solve part of your problem

I have a form that has Employee Name, Email address and a Project Number
The data is loaded from an access database table prepopulating the form.

I create a new file name via concat the Project Number and more info
do a Save as with a trusted function on my PC
(Search for "save as" in the forum)
Then have a button to send the form to that employee email address.

So I think that half your problem can be resolved
