Validating Date

Hello respected people. Greetings to all. I am designing a data capture form for one of my friends office. The issue is using the date field. On filling up the PDF form with date fields, the user must not be able to type any text into it. How can i achieve this?
I am using Acrobat Live Cycle Designer 8.x

Have you tried to insert a drop down calendar for user to select rather than type info?
Or do you want a date generated automatically when the document is sent via email ?

If the second option is what you are looking for, I would also like to know how to do this :-)

I would think if the form can generate a number like a PO, or invoice # that it can generate each time the form is created/submitted, it should be able to input the current date as well. But I am not sure of either and wish this is possible.
