Acro 9 Pro Ext - Open new docs as tabs?

Acro 9 Pro Extended on Win XP.

Searched the settings, the help files, and here on the forum without finding an answer.

In Acro8, there was a checkbox to open new docs in a separate window - unchecking this box defaulted to opening multiple docs in tabs.

Did this disappear in Acro9? I prefer to open multiple docs as tabs, giving me one application window in the Status Bar.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro Extended 9.1, Windows

Yes, unfortunately it did disappear. It was known as MDI (Multiple Document Interface). For more information on this check out the Shredding the Document blog.

One workaround taken from this technical note is as follows:Group similar taskbar buttons together in Windows XP and Windows Vista.

1. Right-click on Start and chose Properties.
2. Select the Taskbar tab.
3. Check "Group similar taskbar buttons".
4. Click OK once.

This will effectively collect all Acrobat windows into a single taskbar button which will also let you select the window you want to work with and reduce clutter.
