Acrobat 9: Layout is partly in pieces after saving as

Hello,

sometimes I need to use touch-up text tool to delete part of text. This is working fine.
But after I saved the modified document the layout is (partly) in pieces because Acrobat added spaces in between words, i.e.

"1. Application" changed to "1. Applica tion"

This happens at several part of the document randomly.

The strange thing is, that this error seems to appear only in some Acrobat installations not on all workstations.

This use to happen to me all the time. Acrobat is not an editing program. It comes down to how the page was constructed by Acrobat. You need to look at your document in the "content structure" panel to see how it really looks to Acrobat.

But, instead of during all of that just buy a third party pdf editor.

The bad truth is, that I've seen this effect on some installations without editing or deleting text, just saving the file is enough!

But this is difficult to reproduce.

Since now the versions 9.x are not usable for us in production and I really don't know what we can do if the 8.x version are not longer supported.

Furthermore I think, the adobe tool are not cheap and therefore the implemented functions have to work. So buying an additional tool for some aspects, seem to me really crazy.

Adobe always says to edit your PDFs in the native application which is of course not possible a lot of the times. And you are right that a product that cost as much as Acrobat should have all it's tools working. But, I've been fighting your very problem since A5 and just had to bite the bullet and buy an editor.
