Acrobat 9.4.5 Pro thumbnail view problems

I have recently found that I cannot delete pages when they are selected in the pages / thumbnail view panel.

I created a new document via scanning, and want to select and delete blank pages. I can select the pages, but delete key will not do anything.

I could do this until recently. New bug?

When I first discovered the problem in described in this thread, I also was unable to select more than one page in the page-view panel, which is also a new behavior. I did not mention it before, because I found that I had the "hand" tool active, and activating the "Select" tool solved that problem. But now Acrobat is again not letting me select more than one page (shift- or control-click).

This sounds like a keyboard conflict with some other software, and I will investogate that. But if instead someone know that this is a known recent bug, or a "preferences" setting I may have activated, I'd appreciate hearing back. Thanks.

It's a known bug in the 9.4.5 versions of Acrobat and Reader.
The workaround is to make selections with the mouse...

Thanks for the reply -- it helps to know it's a known issue, although I don't seem to be able to select more than 1 thumbnail with the mouse, either. I'll await a product version update.

You can do it by drawing a rectangle over the pages you want to select. Click in the Pages panel, but not on a page, and while still pressing the mouse-button draw the rectangle, and release the button when done.

Work around using the mouse? NOT.

I am reporting these annoyances with 9.4.5:
1. Cannot select thumbnail with a single click of the mouse; which then prevents deletions, drag and drops, etc.
2. Because of this new "feature", I am prevented from selecting multiple thumbnails. It is like the ctrl key was disabled.

I am very disappointed in being required to make useless and unnecessary mouse clicks. Is there a way to rollback to the prior version?

I am not doing government work...

Thanks try67, I really appreciate the tip - I was about to look into trying to roll my Acrobat back to 9.4.4.

The mouse "trick" is to NOT select directly. Procedure: Open Pages thumbnail panel like you did before this bug appeared. Using your mouse pick an area near, but NOT on, the first page thumbnail you wish to select and draw a window around a group of page thumbnails. The pages will be highlighted/selected. You can add additional non-contiguous pages by holding down the Shift key and selected them by windowing in the same manner, i.e., starting the selection by selecting outside of the thumbnails.
