Sorry if the topic has already been covered here. I wasn't able to figure out how to get the search feature to look for an exact phrase. (The usual quotation marks don't do it.)
The problem is that from about a quarter to a half of the PDF files I download from the web generate the message "Acrobat could not open xxxx.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged." This includes professional papers and other documents which surely have been created correctly. I get the same result for a given file even if I download it several times.
I'm using Acrobat Standard 7.0.9, which I just updated. I don't have any other versions of Acrobat or Acrobat Reader on my system.
Does anyone know a fix for this?
