acrobat page numbering

i'm working with acrobat pro 8 for the first time. My document has 36 sheets and 'page 1' starts on the 5th sheet. I have put on the footer page number but it starts on 5. How do i put a page number footer on the 5th sheet starting at 1?

Using the Document > Header/Footer > Add menu command to open the Add Header and Footer dialog box, click the Page Number and Date Format text link on the right side of the dialog box. A second dialog opens where you can specify what number you want to appear as the start number. Click the second text link where you see Page Range Options and you can select what page you want the numbering to begin.ted

I have a similar issue, with Acrobat 8 standard
Created PDf, from excel 2003 file-disabled macros.
Need to insert page number from page 3 onwards but indicating page number 1.
page1: no num
page 2: no num
page 3: 1
page 4: 2
....

I tried the solution mentioned by tedpadova. It does not work for me.
