Quick question about Acrobat 7 Pro. Does anyone know if Acrobat Pro 7 works with Windows 7 64bit? Also, has anyone used (or is using) Acrobat 7 Pro on a Windows 7 64bit machine?

Thanks in advance!

Acrobat 7 is not a 64-bit application.

I use it with Windows 7 Pro (64-bit), but using a virtual machine under XP mode. It's not so much that it isn't a 64-bit application (no version of Acrobat is), but that it does not support any version of Windows 7.

Adobe Acrobat is a 32-bit application, but that does _not_ mean it cannot install on Windows64, as the 64-bit Windows kernel includes a 32-bit subsystem specifically to run those apps as best it can. Acrobat X remains a 32-bit application, and it runs perfectly fine on Windows64.

However, Acrobat prior to version X is not *certified* for Windows 7, which means neither Adobe nor Microsoft make any guarantees that it'll work. Some aspects may be fine, some will not, and the majority of issues will surround the Distiller print driver as this is the lowest-level part of Acrobat's footprint. See this link for a KB article concerning Acrobat 7 and Windows XP x64 which reveals many of the issues.
