Acrobat Scan Presets

I'm using Acrobat with an HP Color LaserJet CM2320. The only paper size option available in scan presets is "automatic". When I load letter size documents using the sheet feeder, they are scanned to legal size. Letter size documents scanned on the flatbed scan to letter size. How can I configure the setup so letter size documents fed through the sheet feeder will scan to a letter-size pdf file? Tks!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.4, Windows

Do you experience this same problem if you use the Show Scanner's Native Interface option in the Scanner Options dialog?

Try selecting it using the Custom Scan command.

OK I can select letter size paper using the native interface under custom scans; why can't I change the presets in Acrobat so that I'm getting letter size output using the Acrobat interface?

What OS are you running? Are you using the latest driver for the HP Color LaserJet CM232? What type of driver is it WIA or TWAIN?

Has this been resolved? I have the same issue with Windows 7/Acrobat 9 Pro Extended/HP Color LaserJet CM2320 using WIA driver and Acrobat with an HP Color LaserJet CM2320 and the only paper size option available in scan presets is "automatic". There should be options in the pulldown to select legal size.

Sadly, no. I've since upgraded (?!) to Acrobat X and the problem is even worse. Acrobat cannot even recognize the HP scanner for a preset scan, all scans have to be manually set up as custom scans using the scanner native interface, the program hangs when you select scan and you have to minimize all screens on the display to get to the native interface dialog box, it takes over ten keystokes to perform an action that should require only one; if the document to be scanned has been placed on the flatbed screen instead of the sheet-feeder Acrobat cancels the scan, no paper size selection is permitted on flatbed scans so a scan preview is required, a further waste of time. This is a printer that is in wide use in the business community and there is no excuse for Acrobat X not offering full support of the scanner functions!

Good to know that upgrading to Acrobat X doesn't correct this issue. Have you tried contacting Adobe for support?

After you initiate the scan process from Acrobat X (when using a WIA driver) and the Scanner UI pops up, what is listed for the paper source?

Document feeder. Acrobat X is now recognizing the HP WIA scanner for pre-set scans, but scan presets still does not permit selection of paper size, and everything is scanning to legal size, and then when printed on letter size paper is shrunk down. This is unacceptable. The work around using "custom scan" requires 13 keystrokes to accomplish a scan on letter size paper. This needs some programming attention. Tks, Blair

At other times, when folks have had certain scanner issues, I've suggested that they create a new Windows ID to see if the problem persists across a new user ID. Sometimes registry keys get messed up -- you might try this if you can easily create a new one on your system.

I am having the same problem with not being able to change paper default to 8.5x11. Also, no easy way to scan from flatbed rather than doc feeder.

Using Win7 and Printer HP6300. I upgraded to fix the issues I was having with running Adobe on Win7. Didn't anyone check this stuff out?

I am having similar issue described above while using HP CM2320fxi Multi Function Laser Printer. Acrobat X recognizes HP CM2320 WIA scanner for presets. However does NOT allow to change paper size and default is Automatic. Even if I scan A4 pages, they are scanned in LEGAL size. Hence I have to manually crop every scanned page which is tedious and not feasible -or- use custom scan which is a lengthy process.

Has anyone facing this issue with HP CM2320 color laserjet series figured out how scan in A4 size using Presets on Acrobat X ? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I usually don't post to these lists, but you guys have intrigued me so much. I had to do it. I have the exact same setup at work:

Windows 7
Adobe 9.4
CM2320fxi

I am currently in a struggle to get support for a problem PC (only mildly related)where one of the PC's will not maintain the WIA Scanner settings. The supported configuration from Adobe is to "Show Native Interface" in the options for the scanner. To make this short, checkout on google a software called "AutoHotkey". You can script keyboard input and in effect keyboard shorcut your way through the pop-up windows. Hope you guys are still listening. It takes a little time to figure out, but works like a champ.
