AcroExch error when inserting pdf object into Word doc.

I am trying to insert a PDF doc into Word, but keep getting the following error message: "The program used to create this object is AcroExch. That program is not installed on your computer. To edit this object, you must install a program that can open the object". Where do I get AcroExch? Or is there another way of inserting the PDF into Word?

Me too. I'm getting this error when using either Word 2010 or Excel 2010.

Please contact me if a fix is found!

Maybe it is an MS Office issue and not an Adobe Acrobat issue.

I could open the object in Word in February and early March. The Adobe update was done on my system 3/11/11 and now I get the AcroExch error that Mike cited above. Is this related to the most recent update? Can we back it out so we can insert or open the objects?

Had the same problem. This will fix your issue.

Disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader X

1.Open Adobe Reader X.

2.From Edit menu select Preferences, Preferences dialog box appears.

3.Select General category on the list, uncheck or remove tick mark for “Enable protected mode at startup”

Adobe Reader’s Protected Mode will be turned off.

Disabling Protected Mode is not an option in Adobe Acobat Professional 9.0. Has anyone found a fix?

I am having trouble inserting a PDF file into Word. I read the posts explaining how to change the settings on Acrobat Reader X so I downloaded this file then changed the preferences as the instructions described. Now what? I can insert the file but it is linked to Adobe Acrobat. I need to share the Word document with others who may not have Adobe. Is there a way to just insert the multiple pages of the file inself? Editing the inserted document is NOT a requirement. I can export the document from Acrobat Pro as a graphic but it creates a graphic for each page. This means I have to individually insert > 350 graphics in the Word document. There has got to be a better way. I am under a tight deadline to complete the Word document so any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.TIA

Uncheck or remove tick mark for “Enable protected mode at startup”
Thanks! It works for me!
(I use Win7 with Adobe 10.0.0.)

Even unchecking “Enable protected mode at startup”, I'm keep having the same problem...
I'm using MS Office Professional Plus 2010 PT-BR 64bits and Adobe Reader X 10.1.1.
